BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT WINNER DEC 2011 – RAYNHAM SCHOOL

The Elms Sport in Schools in partnership with the London Borough of Enfield launched a new basketball programme.

Seven schools (Year 2) participated in a term of weekly basketball training, culminating in a tournament which took place at Edmonton Leisure Centre on Tuesday 13th December.

Congratulations to the winners, Raynham School and runners up, Haselbury Infant School.

ESS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER 2010-2011 JACOB BAVETTA

Congratulations once again to Jacob – He finished in first place on our leaderboard for the second year running! Jacob’s prize was one whole year of a free After School Multi-Sports Course at his school, as well as a Stadium Tour for two. Runners up received 1 term of a free sports course and a Stadium Tour for two! Well done to all our winners! Our Leaderboard has now been reset for 2011-2012 – Good luck everyone!

NEW WEEKEND AND AFTER SCHOOL TENNIS CLUB IN ABBOTS LANGLEY!

The Elms are launching a brand new tennis programme at the newly completed Abbots Langley tennis facility in Leavesden Country Park. Come along to our launch day on Sunday 3rd July, there will be exhibitions from some of our students, together with workshops and a chance for young and old to enjoy the sport.

GEMMA BENNET JOINS THE ELMS

We are delighted to announce that Gemma Bennett, Olympics 2012 hopeful, has joined our coaching staff. A huge welcome to Gemma and are sure she will be a wonderful asset to Elms Sport in Schools.

SAM RADIVAN

Huge congratulations to Sam for his exceptional performance in the Tennis Avenue Academy Tournament on 6th November. Sam just missed out on the title and finished in second place. Sam only plays tennis for 3 hours per week and was playing against full time academy members. Well done Sam!

Welcome to The Elms Sport in Schools

Providing top quality sports coaching to schools in and around London

PPA Cover/Extended Day Cover

In accordance with the Government’s new strategy – all teachers are entitled to a minimum of 10% of their timetable teaching time guaranteed for planning, preparation and assessment (PPA).

Schools are also encouraged to offer The Extended Day to meet parents’ growing requirements for this service.

The Elms now provide sports based PPA cover to over 12,000 children in 110 schools around London and the surrounding counties – a number that is constantly increasing. We are fully insured with Public Liability cover of £5,000,000.

Olympic Style Sports Day Package

2012 is on the horizon! The excitement is building and tens of thousands of young children will be inspired to compete in school sports. The Elms Sport in Schools is delighted to introduce our Olympic Style School Sports Day package where every child will be trained through the Spring and Summer terms of 2011 to regularly compete in Olympic style sports, culminating in their own Olympic Style School Sports Day which will take place in the Summer of 2011, with every school in the country being able to take part in 2012.

ESS National Championship

Our ground-breaking National Award Scheme ensures that all children, of all abilities, not only engage with enthusiasm in their coaching activity but sustain and increase their pleasure and commitment. An all-embracing scheme that rewards and encourages each and every child on a weekly basis.

Holiday Sports Schemes

In accordance with the Government’s wish for the Extended Day, which we know includes holidays, The Elms Sport in Schools specialises in supplying first class sports clubs during School holidays – February Half Term, Easter, Whitsun, Summer and October Half Term.

QCA Unit Assessments

The Elms, in conjunction with school staff, carry out regular QCA Unit Assessments to monitor all children and record their individual progress with each sport/activity.

The Elms would be delighted to provide you with our sports coaches for both PPA Cover (during school hours) and to cover all the hours that The Extended Day demands.
